Why take this course and how much time does it take to complete?
In Guitar For Absolute Beginners you learned the very basic fundamental techniques of guitar, including open chords and essential strums. In Guitar for Near Beginners you gained confidence with your basic chords and acquired an impressive array of rhythmic approaches. And in Guitar for Intermediate Beginners you began to mix picking and strumming as you extended your chord vocabulary and explored the basics of music theory. Over the years we've found that many students who are 30 or 40 weeks into their guitar career are thinking: “I sort of know really a lot but… I really know sort of a little." It is time to gain confidence and a sense of mastery over what you are doing! But don't think of this class as time off from improving. This 10 week course is perhaps the most important in the entire beginner series, because you will have the opportunity to go deeper and deeper into your study of guitar. You are going to master all of those techniques you learned in earlier classes. This class isn't just about isolated techniques. It's also about playing songs. You see, you've learned to play many songs but typically after the first three courses, most students want a greater ability to play songs through by heart without the use of charts or sheet music. That will change in this class as you memorize several complete songs and build your own set list. By the time Class Ten rolls around, you will have a memorized set list of several songs! Again, this class is all about mastery. Ultimately, internalizing basic guitar techniques and playing songs by heart will allow you to express yourself through your guitar more completely than ever before. You will become a more fully-realized guitar player and begin to achieve your massive potential. I love this class! And so will you.
Do I need any previous guitar experience?
Yes! Take this course if you're returning from a guitar hiatus and need to get your chops back or if you just feel that you're too advanced for our first three courses but not quite ready for the advanced class.

We don’t merely teach guitar information. We teach people.
People succeed at guitar when they practice. They practice because they are committed. Their commitment is strengthened when their goals are motivating, when their pathways to achievement are believable and achievable, and when they are supported by other people who care about their success.
As teachers, we succeed when we help our students to identify and behave as guitar players. So we teach kids and adults fundamentals in the context of the music they are inspired by, whether it is Bach or Green Day. We break down long term goals into small and achievable steps. We give our students opportunities to hear others play, to perform, and to experience the positive role model of a teacher who excels in guitar.
Some of our students achieve great success in music. Others find a positive outlet, pastime, or experience which adds to their life. We are happy either way.
